March for Babies 2009!
It's that time of year again! On Sunday, April 26th, I will be participating in my 3rd March for Babies event in Chicago! I know that it is incredibly hard for a lot of people to donate this year (I'm in the same boat), but I would like to ask you to keep reading this anyway, because there are other ways you can help even if you are unable to donate this year. I am walking to honor Jackson's memory, in the hopes that the more research that is done, the less families will have to go through the pain of losing a child.

Why March for Babies? Because the March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will help:
- support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects
- educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby
- provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care
- push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children
This year, I would love for TEAM CHD (Congenital Heart Defects) to grow and be even bigger and better than last year! In 2008, we, as a Team, raised $2,258!! (And that was with just 5 walkers, everyone did awesome!!) Please join the Team and walk with us! I have set the Team goal for 2009 at the amount we raised last year. With more people walking with us, the easier it will be to reach that goal! There are walks all over the country, and even several in the Chicagoland area, not just downtown.
